    Bangaii Cardinals: (Pterapogon kauderni)

    Bangaii Cardinals: (Pterapogon kauderni)

Diet: Carnivore, offer varied meaty treats. (Mysis, brine shrimp, finely chopped seafood)
    Maximum size: 3"
    Lifespan: ~ 5 years
Minimum tank size: 30 gallon (A lot of sites say 20 gallon, but I find they always underestimate min. tank size)
Behavior: Mostly nocturnal, but are often seen in the day. These fish are peaceful and suit a community tank. They prefer to be kept in pairs. These fish have great personalities, I often see mine hunting copepods on the rocks. They hover completely still then...BANG...in one quick flash they pounce on their target. Neat to watch.
Sexes: Hard to differentiate, but males have a broader head and jaw and a longer dorsal fin.
Breeding: mouth brooders, will readily breed in captivity

    * This species had recently been added to the IUCN Red List
Please purchase only tank bred specimens.
