Re: New Tank Build for a Nes House

Got the new pump today.... this was one of the major changes needed when we increased the tank size from 150g to 240g... we went with the 3/4 HP sea horse external pump which is going to be hard wired. This will move 4,560 GPH before factoring in head loss. I'm not sure what the final results will be though once the plumbing all in.

That's not me in the tank. I would never have the balls to do that. I'd be too afraid I'd break the glass. That's Colin from Reef Boutique who's building my setup.

Re: New Tank Build for a Nes House

The filtration system has now been finalized and is in for production. It will all be coming together later next week. This is the sketch of the system. What is missing from the sketch is he water change/auto top-off that's on the bottom left.

Re: New Tank Build for a Nes House

So I'm seeing the frag /fuge/skimmer, reactor tank is separated but connected to the sump . And I see you have an outlet (to frag tank) from the return line back up to main display tank ... is this (outlet to frag tank) gonna be controlled by valve or free flowing?

Re: New Tank Build for a Nes House

I believe everything is controlled by valves The attached drawing should answer your question. Attached are the detailed plumbing specs for the sump /fuge/frag tank. Colin is now thinking of changing the compartment order to take advantage of the micro fauna that grow in the fuge to allow it to make it's way into the main display. The first drawing does not allow it as the micro socks will capture everything. Thoughts?? I need to push forward with this ASAP . Thanks,
