OK folks tell me all you know about chillers, to me they are essentially the reverse of a heater, so same logic applies (external controller for temp), 2 is better than one (not feasible), but that is where my knowledge stops.

I am looking at keeping approx 150G of water at about 65F (in my basement which can support 72F without a chiller) - I found a chart somewhere which said a 1/4hp unit would do - I am looking at a 1/3 for a buffer to be safe...

Should I buy used, or is it a "you want the warranty of new since they are prone to breakdown"

Have a line on a 1/3 aqualogic drop in chiller for about $400 - if not a good option, tell me some alternatives.

This frag has something like doubled in size since one month ago when I got it. Right now when fully extended, it is getting quite close to the pulsing xenias, which are themselves rapidly encroaching. Are these two corals dangerous to one another (a)when being close or (b)when in contact? If so, what should be their minimal distance?

Btw., can anyone recommand an online resource that outlines compatibility, placement etc, for all corals?

Many thanks.

I want to turn this into an RDSB, but was wondering whether to keep the Cheato(as well as the light), or just get rid of the Cheato and keep it dark? An RDSB in a bucket is kind of a no go due to space limitations. Is a small fuge with Cheato a waste of time? Looking for answers...Thanks.

reactor and pump combo for NP pellets?

I would love to hear what everyone is using to tumble their NP pellets.

What reactor and what pump specifically and...if the TLF did you install the mesh yes or no?

It would also be nice to know how long the pellets have been tumbling (fluidized) with
the above combo you are using.

Mine slowed down tumbling dramatically so I am looking at increasing flow or perhaps going to a different reactor.

Thanks for your help!

Introducing Flaming Prawn Gobies to a reef tank

Am not sure whether or not this is the right thread - but...
I want to get a couple of flaming prawn gobies for my 75g reef/lagoon tank.
I know that is a big space to put some small fish.
But what I am most worried about are my yellow watchmen gobies.
Does anyone have any experience with these species together?

Well I got my hydro bill for june-10 to Aug-10... lol Its a whopper.. 503.34

I love the combination of summer heat, my air con system running 24/7, the awesome HST and of course the tank..

Previous 2 month bill is 300 or so, so the HST and summer heat added a hundred a month. Thought it would be more so not too peeved..
