Hey everyone!.
Slowly I am going through my clycling of my 10 gallon nano, it's probably the longest wait I have had to endure. Anyways this is what my setup is!
10 Gallon Tanks
30 watt power compact
15 Pounds of Vanuatu LR
20 Pounds of LS
100 Watt Heater
2 water pumps
To come:
Pair of True Percula Clownfish
This is where i need some advise. Does anyone know of any good starter corals I could start with? What other corals can I keep and mabey can I get a description of someone elses nano tank? I was also wondering is there anyway to add a refugium or sump to this already started tank?
Thanks a lot.

Most softies, leathers, mushrooms should be alrite under then lighting you have.
I set up a nano for a while but it was a pain (only a 5g so a 10 would be easier) you need to make sure you keep up with the water changes because stuff changes quick in a small tank. Also check out www.nano-reef.com tons of info on small tanks 20g and under.
You could get an overflow to attach to a sump but that would be alot of money. Try taking a aquaclear 500 filter and then you can put a fuge on the back and stick your heater in there. You don't really need a sump because you don't have a skimmer or anything really to put in it. Unless you wanna increase the water volume of your tank that is the only reason I could think of adding a sump.
But the fuge is good it will cut down on algea big time and keep you tank cleaner.
Hope this helps but check out that site way more info on there, then in what I wrote.

I currently have a 10g nano running with 2 X 20w incandescent 50/50 lights which come on at 1:30pm and turn off at 10:30pm.
I have an air driven skimmer hanging on the back as well as a penguin HOB filter (with no filter media) which I use to assist in water movement.
As for life:
Fish : 1 P. Clown known a Killer Nemo (he doesn't like tank mates and eats them if I bring any new friends home for him)
Inverts: 1 tube anenome, 2 mini stars, 3 mollusks, 1 astrea snail, 2 nassarious snails 1 fighting conch, bunch of bristle worms, pods, etc etc.
Corals: Pulsing Xenia, GSP, Shrooms (all kinds and colours), Sun coral, Zooz (all kinds and colours)
I have an aragonite bed which is about 1" to 1.5" deep and 20lbs of LR.
I have no sump on my 10g.

re: Aquaclear fuge
-AC 500 might be too much flow for a 10G, lots of nano-reefers mention that the 500 is a lot for a 10.. you can try the AC300 and use a smaller impeller to reduce flow if need be...
-I find the AC500 (with baffle and surface skimmer attachment) perfect on my 16G bowfront
-If you really want a sump, it would be similiar to larger tanks (pre-drill/overflow if you like, etc.)
re: corals
-I agree with simoncoul and Wiggler given the 30W PCs...
re: fish
-red firefish
-pistol/goby
-any peaceful, low space requirement, small fish
Have you thought of clean-up crew? Some nano things to consider; given the smaller space, less bulldozing type snails, nass., ceriths, nerite, stomatellas, a couple astreas...
Hope this helps,
