LCD TFT monitors will emitt less Radiations compared to a Standard LCD.. and MUCH less than a CRT monitor!
As for the definition..
____
TFT stands for Thin Film Transistor, and represents a new technology for manufacturing and improving LCD monitors. TFT specifically has allows LCD monitors to improve display of small fonts without appearing jagged or fuzzy.

thanks mike. i found my answer anyway. for those who care, TFT also gives a picture up to an 80 degree angle. where as a LCD only goes to about a 45 degree. TFT also gives a sharper picture.
thanks Mike!
