When it rains it pours:mad:
Ever hear a trickle of water and think na can't be a leak, I mean everything has been running fine for so long with no sign of water, other than in the tank and fudge.
First clue Air getting into the tank via the main mag pumps 2 3/4" supply lines
Second clue shut said pump off and watch water trickle out of "sealed power cord end"
ahhhhhhh servs me right, buy cheap get cheap
Out comes the friggin silcone:mad:
Mag pumps suck air, See above first clue
And the real kicker is this friggin thing has been CSA approved what a joke
All I can say is good thing I have a floor drain in the basement

Not good:(
Is it still safe to use - as in no current coming into contact with the water???
How old is the pump? You might want to contact the manufacturer and the store it was purchased from too:
Danner Mfg. Inc

•Phone: (631) 234-5261 •Fax: (631) 234-4778

Thank God for the drain and good luck.

Hi AJ,
The pump is still safe no detectable current, the pump is only 8 months old.
The pump sat at the end of the sump/fudge ( level ) I have 2 other mags that are years older but smaller in output not sure if that has anything to do with it.
I also considered to much back pressure being the problem but the pump runs back into the sump (to control flow via a 1" line) in other words diverting flow through a equal output line, sized the same as coming off the pump so I ruled that out.
Ya the floor drain has come in handy a couple of times and I would recomend to anyone considering setting up a tank if you can put the sump near one do it.
I will contact Danner Mfg. Inc and see what they say
Thanks for the #

i know i had a mag fail because of hair line cracks around the outer intake housing. it only took me 3 or 4 tries before i figured out where it was coming from. i almost needed a maginifying glass to see them. i had another one break off it's studs for the housing mounting screws. they sure aren't perfect pumps.

Hi Cinci,
Must be mass production, on the whole mags I have had in the past have been fine just a wee bit unnerving considering where the leak on this one was.
Glad it wasn't a Rio, who knows may have burst into flames.
I prolly should have opted for a pump more suited for the task and passed on the mag.
Thanks for the reply
