ANYONE VOLUNTEER TO HOST NEXT MEETING?

If anyone would like to host next meeting please speak up as we do not have a volunteer at this time and there can be no club without somewhere to meet. IF no one wants to volunteer I will however I'm warning you that my tank looks like trash compared to Andy's. I have no coral, no skimmer and not much of anything else either. However I'll throw my pride out if I have to. Someone PLEASE SAVE ME!!!!!

Summer tends to be a hard time to get people to commit to anything....we may need to pick this thread up again in September...no guarantees that the Bubba will still be available tho!!!

(I am so excited as today I got some new critters for my tank, it's like Christmas! The electric blue crab is the best!)

Everyone feel free to bring items you'd like to trade,sell or give away! I will probably bring a few extra crabs to sell/trade.

- A ruby cling crab (exact same as an emerald but red)

- possibly an electric blue hermit (about two inches and very beautiful) and no this one won't eat everything in your tank!

I'm thinking the sunday 25th. which is my next set of days off. I'm on a 10 on and 6 off schedule and I will be down south this weekend. I know it's a few weeks away but how many think there is a good chance they could make it on the 25th?

I don't think I can come that day. It's my parents anniversary and we are celebrating it and Sundays are pretty bad for me although they might work for others. Sorry!

The 25th doesn't look too good for me...depending on what time it started, I could probably make part of the meeting but would have to split early.

Hey guys,

Was just wondering if anyone can go to these meetings or do you have to be from the Sudbury region?

I currently reside in Kapuskasing (5-6 hours north of Sudbury) and have been looking for some nearby clubs, and since I'm moving to Sudbury for school at the end of august and thought I I would be the best place to look.

Cool, can't garantee I will be able to make it to any meetings before september but will sure try to be there. I would like to meet some other people that are in the hobby. The only person I've met that's in the hobby is the owner of Superior Reef Aquatics in North Bay.

I think due to lack of interest during these hot summer months I will withdraw my offer to host the next meeting here at my house next week and will try again in September.

I'd still like to meet with everyone even if not everyone can come so I will volunteer to do it and almost any day works for me except Sunday. What about a friday night or Saturday night???? Can people give when would be good for them and I'll try and accomodate. I have a huge recroom and will make some sweets. Anyone for homemade chocolate cheesecake????? Yeah, I'm bribbing everyone now. Well everyone's welcome, I was thinking in the summer we could do more relaxed meetings maybe, more like get together instead of formal meeting. Anyway Dave don't want to tread on your toes so if this offends you let me know, I'm not trying to upset anyone!

I'm still very willing to go.

Just have to set a date and I'll try to be there. With my job I only get 3 days off a week and I only know on friday evenings when those days will be for the following week so I can't really give you date that is good. For example this week I have wednesday, thursday and friday off, but next week I could have sunday monday tuesday. So you see, you guys have to set a date and then hope that it will be good, although I could try and make arrangements to change my days off to be able to go.

I'm not above being bribed... chocolate cheesecake sounds good to me! I'm in whenever someone schedules a meeting. I'll just wait until that happens though because I'm FAR too shy to host one myself. ;-)

In the meantime, if anyone is interested in discussing a website of our very own for this new "club" please email me. I'm dieing to toss around ideas for a local aquarium club... as kiwi said, I don't want to step on any toes here, but I would like to get something moving. Maybe once we get started others will follow.

Once all of the contents of my 75 gallon tank are moved over to my 180 gallon tank, I promise to have everyone over. I'm kind of hoping to have it done by the end of the month so perhaps some time in October!

I say we all invite ourselves to DaveA's to check out his awesome FOWLR tank. Let's not tell him and just show up :). In the absence of any other volunteers and would be willing to have a meeting here. The tank isn't much compared to some but you can listen to me moan and groan about my algae woes.

I am now living in Sudbury. I can't host since I'm just a student living in an appartment and all my tanks are with my parents up in Kapuskasing, but I am still very willing to go to this meeting, tell me when and where and I'll be there. I just can't wait to see other peoples tanks and learning more about the marine hobby.

I'm still willing to host, just couldn't drum up much interest in the heat of summer. It would have to be either this weekend, the 18th or 19th, or anytime after Oct 4. I have a wedding and a fishing trip last two weekends of this month. Just let me know and it will happen.:)
