your best bet is to search around a few computer stores in the GTA.. many have used laptops for sale.. your most likely lookin at 600+$ easily.. as laptops are so much more expensive than a desktop..

there are many 15+ stores located around College/Spadina area downtown with lots to choose from... You could also see if You could find a HUB Canada magazine and look in there.. most of the classifieds/ads are from the GTA

IMO youd want minimum P3-500mhz + - 20Gb harddrive -64mb video card - built in network or at worse a 10/100 pcmia network card - CDrom/DVDrom/burner .. 1 of the 3 are usually built in.. but can come external..

this is only an ideal estimate IMO.. and can be adjusted quite a bit.. depending on what you find and prices and such.. Ive actually got a laptop similar to the specs above.. which I think retails for 800$ new.. so you might be able to find somethin aroudn the 500$ used range..

if youd be willing to put in a little bit more youd be better off.. time == money :)

best of luck..

As pyroz listed...TONS of stores in the Kensington Market area (College & Spadina/Bathurst).

Also check with www.cpused.com - as they stock a large volume of used notebooks, etc.
