Well, I have finally broken down and decided to actually keep and breed (as opposed to feeding them to other fish) guppies again. So, I am now in the process of setting up a rack with about a dozen 10 gallon and 15 gallon tanks, and will be scouring my local area for some good breeding stock (already have my eye on two pair). It feels a bit strange....it has been nearly 18 years since I last actively bred guppies (I was supplying all my local shops).

Sounds good! Will you be doing the fancy guppies then?
My lfs has asked for the baby rosey barbs I have(when they are grown) and has asked me to to allow them to buy any of the babies my other fish might have and that includes our fancy gupppies. Dh and I were talking about setting up a tank of fancy guppies only<i think we just might start our own too. Let me know how your venture goes.....the lfs has be on the search for a new fish and plant supplier...so if you know of any, gimme a shout on that too.

Yes, it would be fancies...a LFS I was in yesterday has just got in some rather stunning and unusual colours and patterns. With any luck, I will treade babies to shops in exchange for supplies, particularly food, which is currently costing me a fortune.

The more I watch my guppies the more I find it intrquing.....I myself have been buying fancies and everytime another breed of fish dies I replace it with a fancy(can't help it) im falling for them :D

One of my guppies birthed yesterday! Now she wasn't a fancy but her everyone else is. I dont know how many and its was wild to see her "pop" those babies out! My other girl who is fancy is very pregers and I am waiting on her to "pop" as well.

So here I am with a breeder container(the white net one) and I have a bunch of High Fin Rosey Barbs and guppy babies. An approx guess on # of babies all together would be 40 or more.....
