Coral fragments

I am looking for some hints/advice regarding cup corals. I have a large cup coral and I would like to start another one. Is it possible to just cut a section out of the large one and glue it onto another rock? Is this a common practice for propogating this type of coral?
Any advice would be greatly appriciated :cheers:
