Hey everybody,

Ive noticed lately that my buttons are not looking like they used to. In the pic i just took you can see how some of the buttons are not opening. It looks like that eveyday now. You can also see more to the left of it that some of them are turning white. Is this die off? It was in that spot for at least 2-3 months and was doing very well. I haven't done anything major i can think of but i do wonder if i should be hand feeding this coral? All tests look well within the norm. I guess one thing i can think of is that i introduced PhosGaurd into my system around the same time it looked like that. But i feel that it looked like that before the Phos was intro'd. Can't remember 100% though. Any thoughts would greatly help, i don't want to lose this one.

Thanks, Warren...

I had some that did the same thing. I was very strange, as it affected only one colour, but both of the colonies of that colour. I assumed it was something in the water that that particular species didn't like. After a while, they started openingg again -although I can't tell you what I did to fix the problem, as during that period, I added a sump, started using kalk and switched to a new & better water supplier.

Do you have any other zoos in your tank? Are they doing the same?

I had one piece of coral that had three different types of those things on it. There were yellow polyps, red ones, and one that was pink in the center. The rock was small but they were all on it. Now, i did have a bad bloom, and i think that got the yellows ones off the rock. The one pink one i think is toast but there is two red ones left. I managed to get out the hair algea but it really likes to grow on that one coral. I don't know what to do?
