finding used equiptment was so easy, now i go to the buy/sell/trade and i get an auction. It seems like a lot of complication for such a simple transaction. I liked it better before, but mabye i'm missing somthing.
thanks, Ryan Landry

Ryan,
If you read the other threads, There are a couple going you would understand more.
Ideally,
2 things are going to happen here !
1) Clean up the Servers.. Hopefully bring down the cost for AJ.. and in turn hopefully we will get more out of the site.. While keeping everything hopefully more simple.. Once he gets it all running the way he has planned!
2) Give some of the hobbyist a chance to make a Little more on there resale of there items.. IE... Having a skimmer to you is worth $50.. and posting it in the auction and then getting $100 as it was worth that much to someone Else !.. More money for the hobbyists to get more of what they want.. Now of course.. He is going to also have the Classifieds Forum.. For people looking to just post a item at a set price.. looking to just sell it to the first person who wants to pay the asking price.
So we are getting two options when selling.. We can sell at a low set price to just get rid of it.. Or we can toss it in the auction to try and make the most possible.!
Hope this helps you !
Michael!

i understand that but if i see somthing i want/need i wont be wating a week for an auction to end, i would go find one elseware. On the flipside some sellers don't want to wait, so my conclusion is we should have a choice between the two.
thank you Ryan Landry

So then DON'T use the Auction...just post / look in the Classifieds Section...
Not an auction - no waiting...
Quite simple.

i was under the impression that the auction would be the only way to buy/sell

Ryan Not at all,
Check out the threads.. AJ has created the auction.. and has now created the classifieds.. To keep the buy and sell off the main Discussion board.. So yes.. Both are going to be made available to us.. He did this because of the lack of interest in the auction.. as people like the old way better.. So this is his way of keeping the old way.. But having it work more efficiently for his boards. :)

why not get rid of the classifieds to save space and just have a buy now option in the auction (allowing the impatient seller to violate himself )

There IS a Buy It Now option in the Auction...if more then one or two people would actually LOOK into things - they would see this.
AP Auction is just like eBay - all the same options.
It is a CHOICE on the SELLER - just like Reserve Price, etc...
All the info is contained within the Auction...all you have to do is register for it - and LOOK over the options.

aj, i was just offering my opinion after flipping thru the posts. if you have a buy it now you dont need classified's.
your red wings propaganda is offensive. dont you live in leaf land?
if your not care full some one may paint all your fish blue. with fish friendly paint of course.

In the acution you can not post questions and such.. So if its a item that has mulipule item.. Like say a 'Full reef system" and you are looking for a total price or to part it out.. Its best to go into the Classifieds as people can post asking questions on the different components.. and such.. where they could not do that in the acution.
