View Full Version : Acro frag viable?

Last week, I posted that my tank had a disaster. When the refugium overflowed due to 2 safeties failing at the same time, almost 2/3 of the tank drained. I've since re-plumbed and everything is running smoothly.

The only things that I lost were 3 sps frags...or so I thought.

My neon green monti dig still has a small area of fluorescence where it was touching a puddle on the rock. Not much though (maybe 5%).

My neon green bird's nest acro (tan under regular lighting) had lost all of its fluorescence. Now it is fluorescing again. I fragged off the one bleached branch.

My green acro (sp?) started growing algae on it. No fluorescence has appeared.

How can I tell if these frags are viable. Any harm to just letting them be and seeing what happens? :thanks:

I second Mike's suggestion, just leave them there if they recover it's bonus it they don't make it they will cause no harm for other corals.

quick update...

the bird's nest (green) has completely recovered and is putting out new braches.

The montipora (fluo green) patch has tripled in size and has good polyp extension.

The acro is dead.
