Help with MH Lighting

I have built a new MH lighting system (Or am building I mean)
And have a question for all....
I am using 2 x 175 F-can ballasts.
What guage wire (extension cords) would you use for the power and for the socket to ballast connections??

I think the amp rating is like 2amps per bulb but just want to be sure that I don't burn down my brand new house!!

I'm thinking 16 guage but have had a few reccommend 14 guage.

Any thoughts??

I am no electrical expert, but if the difference is only 1 dollar, I would go for the 14 guage just in case.

I would go with the thicker wire as well. Better safe than sorry!
