R.O. unit

i just got a 5 stage r.o. unit and i am wondering what kind of test can i perform w/ it to make sure i have the clean line connected to the faucet.

Check your production ratio...

If you are getting close to the proper amount of clean water out, and even more out of another line - then it's correct.

You should have a production ratio of approx. 4-1. For every 1 gal of ro water - there will be about 4 gal of waste water.

If you were to have it connected to the wrong line - then this ratio will be very messed up and you should be able to see the difference in the production.

Also, if you understand which filter is which on your unit - then you can also make sure that the line that is connected to the SEDIMENT filter (looks like wound yarn) is the one connected to the water tap. There are two more lines, one should come out of the RO membrane and the other out of the final DI filter (should be a dark black material inside this filter).
