Just did a DIY power compact lighting setup on my 55 gallon predator reef tank and was wondering if anybody knows where I can get Polished Aluminum Reflectors close to home.......Ottawa.
The light setup consists of two wafer thin ballasts 2 \55w 5000k daylights and 2 \55 watt actinics. Whole package cost me $204 from a light shop here in Ottawa.
Any help would be greatly appreciated:)

Rob, call around to sheet metal places and ask for spectral aluminum, this is fasr more reflective that polished aluminum and won't dull. (it is what the spiderlights are made of) there might be different brand names like everbright and such. I has some shiped to the island from Vancouver for 6.50/sq foot problem was I had to get a full sheet or they wouldent bring it over the ferry.

Hey Steve, were you able to determine if you had a 1' square piece left over to build a reflector for me?
If not, what is the name of the place here in Vancouver you ordered your sheet from? Perhaps I can just go there and buy a 1' square piece for my reflector?

invest in a good reflector made all the difference an optimal reflector will cost you only 45-50$ and you will have someting like 40% more light over your reef compar to a flat sheet so tink about it before atemp that DIY
So IMO unless you could bend it and make a copy of a spider
or optimal reflector you beter just go whith the one that will give you the best for you $
I do all kind of DIY but i prefert bought my 3 optimal
Just my 2 cents
