Well...I'm running a 400 watt 65kk Iwasaki and a 400 watt Xanium 15kk on my 150 with 2 - 110 watt VHO actinics and am happy to report that the 15kk bulb is performing very well! Corals are showing more depth of colour and seem quite bright in comparison to the Iwasaki side. Purple tipped montipora, blue tipped acro and purple hairy acro are all looking quite nice and are still putting on growth in spite of the somewhat reduced PAR (compared to the Iwasaki). We'll be upgrading this summer to somewhat larger tank and intend to run 2 Xanium 15kk's, 2 Iwasaki 65kk's and 4 110 watt VHO actinics - I hope the Xaniums stay reasonably priced!!!!! ;)

Scott any pics?

I've been flip-flopping between the 15KK xaniums and the 20KK radiums trying to decide what my next up grade will be.

Hi Kenzy

I've attached a pic of my tank - iwasaki on the left, xanium on the right....

If price were no object, i'd be running 20kk radiums on PFO HQI ballasts. jb1974 from this board is running them and it looks really good - crisp white with a mild blue tint.

Thanks Scott, are you running it on a standard ballast?

I've been running 2x400w saki's with 440w 03's and the yellow is really starting to bug me, even with new bulbs. I'm thinking this fall I'll splurge and get the Blueline ballasts and likely the Radiums.

Hi Kenzy

I am running it on a regular tar ballast. jb1974 is running a couple of radiums on electronic ballasts as well - they are a little more blue and slightly less bright on the e-ballast as compared to the PFO HQI ballast but still look really good - really brings the colours out...
