I bought the same one and returned it after reading that it will only survive on eating sponges and will most likely die from starvation in the aquarium. The problem is when it dies it will release the toxin in the water.
They are beautiful though, there are also blue once.
Keep us updated on how it's doing. plz

Hello

It appears to be a Hypselodoris sp. Yes they do feed on sponges but not all types of sponges. They have a very short life span measured in months not years. In most cases they starve to death in our tanks.

Sexy though... Where'd you get it out of curiousity?

I got it at Dragon Aquarium..

Felt sorry for the cute little guy.. HJe was in like a 5 gallon holding tank and I figured he would have a better chance in my reef, plus my GF had to have him..

I wanted one before, but couldn't find a source.. Read all the info, and since I have a lot of sponges in my tank I thought I would go for it. He seems happy and is eating of the rocks. Can't tell what he is eating.

will keep you guys updated...

That was one of the critters I got into this hobby for. But then I discovered how hard they are to keep and put them out of mind. If you find something it eats, let us know. I'd still love to own one someday.
