OK i have searched the boards for about 2 hours now on the sump , refuge , rubbermaid sumps etc etc , my biggest concern is the overflow setup as my tank isn't drilled. I have seen a few pics of DIY ones etc , But there isn't any specific design diagrams to make one also the theroy of it restarting the sphyon once the pump comes back online , I am seriously thinking of tooling around with creating a sump for my 75 gal , The overflow box is pretty much the only obstacle at this time. As i cann't afford to have it overflow into the livingroom heh , wife wouldn't be to happy , me neither. Would someone have one they no longer need collecting dust or somthing or know of a diagram i can see to make one ? I would like to set up a sump to get the skimmer filter and heater out of the maintank not because of the look of them but the bubbles they give off. Not very pleasing to the eye and im sure the tank would benefit from the absecnce of the bubbles as well . Please any thoughts info etc appreciated , Want to avoid a catastrophy :bfish:

If you connect your overflow pipe to powerhead with airline, you should NEVER loose siphon, unless your overflow has design problem. Any air in the siphon pipe should be sucked by powehead.
My first DIY overflow is conneted to MP900. Running with Dolphin DP380 pump (around 300GPH) is virtually silent without any DURSO/STOCKMAN mods.

One of the designs on those links shows the airline mod, he did it to a weir, though, not a u-tube. Same thing really.
I really like the closed loop he built on his 29G. I may try that down the road.
