The new tank that is being built is a 50 gallon pentagon tank.
Right in the back corner the bottom will be drilled and there will be an overflow box.

I was thinking of mabey getting a couple of holes drilled on the back walls, right beside the overflow, to run the return lines.

Would you recomend this or not. What is the risk of these things leaking and draining the tank onto the floor?

Comments, concerns,

Thanks

here is a pic of the tank. Disregard the top as it will be a bare top tank. The crude red circles are where I was thinking of getting it drilled for return lines. Mabey even a little closer to the overflow.

Hi Mitch

Glad to see you're starting up again. Drilling the back walls should be no problem whatsoever. You may wish to put the holes high enough so that a power outage won't cause too much water to flow back into your sump. Bulkhead fittings in each hole sealed with silicone should hold just fine. I've put my return lines right inside my overflow box. I don't suppose you would have enough room in yours, do you?

Good luck with it.
