Hi there...you could try
1. putting then in a low flow area, building a little rock wall around the piece of xenia with the rock at the bottom.
2.To attach a piece of leather someone told me to actually stick a toothpick through the base of the coral about 1 inch from the bottom and then use elastics to attach it to the rock
3. Or use crazy glue, yes crazy glue. Take the coral out of water and the piece of rock. Pat both dry with a towel, quickly attach the coral to the rock and your done. Oh...then put the coral back in the tank!!

I also have used crazy glue in the past and it worked. I think I got that idea from and old Sprung article or mabye it was Delbeek.
First take a little peice of live rock or even a shell if you have it and dry it off with a blower or leave it overnight to dry, pat the tip of the Xenia to be glued with a paper towel and add a tiny bead with the paper towel press firmly to the rock, place the coral in a low current area until it takes, then place it in any crevice that suits the coral and voila. This has worked for me with Xenias as well as Colt corals.

Hey canuckreef,
I cut 3-5 frags of Xenia every 1-2 weeks for sale/trade, so I'm a relative expert at the attaching thing. Here's what I do.
I cut a stalk from my "mother colony" and use an elastic band to secure the fresh cutting to a piece of rubble rock. Be sure to only make the elastic tight enough to hold it in place and keep the crabs/snails/shrimp/etc from knocking it loose, but not so tight as to pinch it too much, or the stalk will separate. This works for me 95% of the time. The 5% that doesn't is because something knocks the frag loose, or it is pinched too tight and the Xenia breaks from the pinched part.
After 2-3 days the Xenia will have attached itself securely, and you can take the frag out and remove the elastic. After a week on the new rock, you'll never get it off again.
BTW... Anyone in the Greater Vancouver area who wants Xenia, my frags are HUGE and CHEAP. $15 each, or 2 for $25.
