Hello, friends up North. Cool looking forum and thought I had to register and see what's going on in Canada. And to learn more about the types of corals Canadians can get that we can't.

Look forward to meeting most of you. Sorry it won't be in person as I'm down in oregon, but if you are ever passing by.

to AquariumPros.ca reefcam!!
Good to have you on board...I'm sure that a few people will have some questions for you regarding your set-up expecially with the Xanium lighting! :D Great looking tank and site!
There really isn't much that we can get in Canada that is not available in the US...more the opposite :(
Again...I'm sure that I speak for everyone when I say it's good to have you here. We all look forward to your input and contributions on our forums.
Best regards,

Welcome to Canada eh!? :)
Corals we can't get, to begin with, cheap ones. Also many soft corals are getting harder to get and full grown SPS are rare (frags are available from local growers though.
What is becoming harder for importers (from what they tell me anyway) would come under janitors. Red Legged Hermits are suddenly rare and expensive and some snails don't seem to show any more at all.

So far in my web based travels I've noticed very little difference in availability and in most cases price for livestock. It's hardware that's the killer

Thanks guys. My boss is from Canada (Toronto). Which is funny because aside from Vancouver, Toronto is the other city I have been to.
Not even corals from Asia or Red Sea???? :(
Not even the black market???? hehehehehe....

Well then, come to the real "hole" of Canada and visit the Maritimes. You can't get a decent SW fish for miles, but we're hoping to change that. The money I'll pay, but not for the sake of keeping a reef.

Well Brian L - myself being from the "hole" called Fredericton...I will definitely try to change the whole "can't get a decent SW fish" problem! :D
