What do you want? Cast acrylic? Extruded acrylic? Other?

The extruded acrylic is cheap, the cast is fricken expensive!

Is that the only difference? Can you elaborate on "cuts nicer"? Can I just use my chopsaw or do I need a hacksaw or what?

Thanks Hark!

well table saws with an acrylic works best to cut tubing i believe.

In terms of extruded vs cast, extruded has been known to get a yellowish colour to it after awhile. i myself have never seen this, but others have said it happens.

hmm...what else. cast is supposed to glue together nicer, but i have never had an issue with extruded....

hope that helps

I work with plastics on a cnc machining centre. The cast machines much nicer than the extruded. The extruded has a tendancy to melt on the cutter, because it is basically made up of long strands. You have to play around with the feed speeds and router's rpm to get it right. If you are just cutting it to length, then extruded is just as good and is way cheaper. Other than that, the make up up the material is the same. If you want to cut it on a table saw, make sure you use a blade that is specially designed for plastics.

Thanks
