Yes, me again ;)
My 180 gallon aquarium has had its center brace surgically removed :( and
i would like to correct this. Has anyone done this brace replacement on this size
of tank? Is there an effective and fairly painless way of doing this? There is no water in the tank yet!
thanks, Jeff

While I can't help you with your center brace repair, you might consider taking the tank to a local tank manufacturer (if you have one nearby) and ask them to install some "Euro-bracing" on your tank.
Basically it's a bracing that goes around the top edge of the tank to keep the panels together. It's provides a much cleaner looking finish, and doesn't obstruct the top of your tank which can cause shading problems with your lighting. (which is why the person may have foolishly removed the center brace in the first place?)

thanks for the post Andrew. I don't live by any aquarium factorys. I sure like the sounds of the euro strips\moulding but
not sure where i can get them. Any idea if these can be ordered? I was thinking of using a light piece of metal folded over at both edges in the tanks center. Not reallly the best idea but thought it might be ok.
thanks, Jeff

JeffD,
Crack open the yellow pages.....Look for glass repair shops, places that do windows. You will eventually run across one whom has had experience with tanks or custom installs or know someone who does. I have a couple around here incase I want to install a 6000 gallon tank with bent glass halfway between the first and second floor. Seriously though, a good place to start.
