Having one of these odd balls in your tank will lead to hours of enjoyment. They are constantly foraging for food in the tank and often perch like a hawk and stare.
I swear it knows when you are watching as mine seems to show off whenever I am in the room.
An algae eater it does a good job with hair algae and it leaves lip prints on the glass as it attacks the film algae.
Family: Blenniidae
Origin: Indo-Pacific
Size: Up to 5 inches
Diet: Herbivore
Tank Set-up: Marine: Coral or rock, plants
Reef Compatible: With caution
Tank Conditions: 72-78ºF; sg 1.020-1.025; pH 8.1-8.4
Minimum Tank Capacity: 40 gallon
Light: Medium
Temperament: Peaceful
Swimming Level: Bottom
Care Level: Moderate
Reproduction: Egg Layer
This fish get's along with all of my tankmates but it can and WILL defend itself.
I would caution placing other blennies in the tank after it has been established. I learned the hard way :(
A great fish to own
