Problem with tangs eye

well it seem out of the 15 or so yellow tangs I happened to get a sick one.

It's one eye has like a cloudy, slightly puffy membrane over it.

She's eating, the eyeball is moving and there seems to be no sign of distress from the fish.

Any help would be appreciated

Mitch,
It could be something as simple as catching it on a piece of liverock ect. If that is the case it will usually heal itself. If the eye begins to protrude, it is most likely popeye. If it is popeye I suggest using Furan 2 to treat.

Hey Mitch is it possible to get this tang out & give it a freshwater dip, it may be that simple or if that doesn`t resolve it maybe some meds in quarintine. I had a sailfin a few years back with a similar problem only do not remember it being puffy, the dip solved the problem, maybe it will resolve itself.

I tried this fresh water dip once before..Well actually it was a fresh water death.

I don't really like the idea. I'm sure if you know what your doing it may work but I don't so I will hope for the best.

It's eating like a pig and it's very active so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

If its eating and keeps eating then it will likely be ok.
Problem will come if both eyes get it and it can't find the food easily.

May be nothing more then net damage, fish can't protect there eyes and nets cause a huge amout of damage.

I've got the same problem with a Flame Angel. White membrane over a puffy eye... Hope he fairs better. Sorry about the Tang...

If this keeps up, I'll try the Furan 2. Thanks.
