I lost a percula clown this morning to what I believe to be Brooklynella. ( a white film covering his body)
What I would like to know is what can I do to prevent the other fish in my tank from getting it? I have 1 perc and 2 tomato clowns in my 29gal along with a cleaning crew of 7 hermits, 4 snails, 1 brittle star and I have a sea urchin.
Everything else in the tank appears healthy, any suggestions on preventative measures I can take??

amonia 0
nitrite 0
nitrate 0
ph 8.0
salinity 1.023
temp 78

Thanks

Thanks, I hadn't heard that before ...about mixing clowns...very good to know...unfortunately a little too late for my perc. I am not sure how to handle the fact that I still have two types of clowns and only one tank. Any suggestions?

Flipper263,

I to have a Maroon Clown that has come down with it.. he is in the middle of treatment and coming along well!

One thing i can tell you , Is that Brooklynella is brought out in Clown-fish by stress same as Ich is brought out in Tangs.

Now i can almost Guaranty you that having 2 Percs in a tank with 2 Tomato's would be very stressful on the percs especially with it being a tank so small!..

You want the best chances for Clown-fish, you need to provide them with a stress free environment, Its not recommended to mix different types of clown-fish..

I hear not to mix clown species over and over again, so it's probably good advice!
