please note to our valued customers that we will offer a price match for products posted by our competitors,it seems as a few outlets are offering some product lines we carry,no problem and ill match and beat the price of in stock items,

Way to go Flavio!
Now why would anyone want to go and shop anywheres Else as we all know that nothing beats the Service and support received from Tom and Flavio over at ORG..
And for those who use the reason that its too far.. Myself and other travel from the Barrie Area quite often.. not to mention Sohal Tang who travels from Colling-wood..
When you find a great place like ORG you tend to make less trips.. But when you do make it.. Its more than worth while! :)
Keep up the great work!

I think that was a rhetorical question, Tooloud, but I'll answer it anyway. Why would someone want to shop somewhere else?
Well, I'm one of those strange people who is in his early thirties and still doesn't have a driver's liscence. I just never wanted one and I still don't. So for me unless I can bum a ride from a friend which I never do because if I wanted to ride in cars I'd buy one I can only go to ORG sparingly (GO Train), I haven't been there once yet. So I do a lot of shopping online, that way things come to me. I will be going to ORG soon, though. A friend of mine wants to go and he offered to drive me. He doesn't have a tank and can't get one right now, he just wants to look at the corals.
I've been buying all my livestock at BA's just because it's close. But no way I'm buying their corals, I'll have to go to somewhere like ORG. And I want to go there, from what I hear it's THE place to go. For dry goods though it's just more convenient to mail order. But if I'm going somewhere I usually try to buy dry goods, too.

ill match any ontario price as on some items i cant compete with jl,ill actually lose money,on many items we are 5% within range,if anyone has a special item they have been looking at pls p.m. me and ill see what i can do.all our warranty is through the store.not the distributor or manufacture,in many cases such as pacific coast products i have an arrangement with them for straight exchange and we take care of the rest,i dont have tunze powerhead in stock but if your interested i can check into availablity for you norm, thanks.

For a few extra $$, I'm happy to shop at a hobbiest's shop and drop my dough there. I've had only misery when entering the hobby - only having the BA "guru's" advice. In the past 2 years, I've replaced a high percentage of the setup they suggested. I've feel that the few extra $$ that a hobbiest may have marked up his/her stock - it's money I'm happy to justify as "cosultation fees" - so to say.
I visited ORG for the first time this past weekend, and Tom was very helpful! Had no problem dropping money in the store, and would rather drive from Whitby to Oakville much of what I want, than visit any Big Als. BA's is a place I visit when I "need" something.
Wanted to say that Sudbury has a fantastic place called "Peter's Reef Pond" that I hit every other month with I visit family up there. I've learnt in my short time as a marine hobbiest that there are people who run a store for the profit, and those who do it because they love it. May have taken me a year to realize the difference, but so glad I have...

I agree! I been shopping at BA's for freshwater fish and supplies for years. Their always happy to give you advice, but it always seems to involve buying something expensive from them. And on top of that, their advice is never very good in the first place.
I've only been to ORG a few times, but the guys there have always been honest with me. In fact, they have told me NOT to buy some items from them, because they didn't think it would benefit/work in my setup. I have learned more there in a total of an hour than I have ever learned at BA's. I have no problem driving an hour and maybe paying a little more (maybe not, as Flavio says they will match prices) for a decent product and good dependable advice.
Obviously ORG doesn't buy or sell products in the quantity that BA's does. Therefore, it's probably more difficult to keep their prices low. Their customer base is probably mainly made up of a small group of very dedicated reefkeepers who don't mind paying a little bit of a premium for the service, quality and knowledge they require. (Not to mention, ORG has MUCH nicer corals than BA's)

Hello Flavio,
After reading these posts, I'm thrilled that there is someplace else to go where the staff seem to care.
My only option til now has been BA's and i've been anything but pleased with them.
Where are you in Oakville and I'll be sure to take the run out to see you.

One great thing about ORG is that they are willing to bring in products that hobbiests want. Live DT's, Cyclop-eeze, Goldenpearls, PE Mysis, etc. are all products that they have brought in and therefore make it well worth the drive for me from London.
Of course there corals are absolutely the best available. I've yet to see a shop in Canada or the U.S. come close.

I know you tried. They're just nasty to find retail since they can multiply like rabbits. No use selling something that (supposedly) shouldn't be hard to get for free :D
I think your wife still cringes a bit whenever I show up in the store, however ;)
