I don't know if this is the correct place to put this but here goes. My line to my skimmer came off and started squirting water in the air and on to the broadloom. About 5 - 10 gallons of water to be sort of exact, since I did have to be upstairs having dinner when it slipped off. Anyway my question is; what does everyone do when they spill large amounts of water on the broadloom? I can't be the only one out there who this happened to.:blob:

Don't you just hate it when that happens?

I had that happen ONCE on my RSBerlin...I promptly gathered my plastic Zip-Ties and pliers and made sure the flex PVC was on there SNUGGLY this time. :D

As for the clean-up...my suggestion is get a small Shop Vac (wet/dry)...great for tank water spills, and gets the salt up too!

Canadian Tire has a 10Gal one on sale this week too...$25 off Reg-$114, Sale-$89 Part #54-0222-4 , and you can get the Zip-Ties there too! ;)

Good luck Joe...

Plastic ratchet clamps - very secure. They are similiar to metal clamps but totally reef safe. Last year during the summer my hose came off my return pump (held by plastic ties) and flooded about 15 gallons on the hardwood floor and in the cabinet. Thank god it only happened once... no warpage.

You should also get a water alarm (aka sump alarm) at Home Depot. When the sensor gets wet it'll let the whole house know. hth.

Ya.. I had to replace the plastic ties. As for the alarm some things are better left not as common knowlege. I did get out my shop vac and it on with the fans for the rest of the day:thumbsup:
