I was thinking about upgrading to a 130 Gal All-Glass Aquarium.
Does anyone have any comments on the quality of these tanks?
Thanks Trigger :thanks:

Quality is great...but why pay for the name??
Get one custom made from Aquarium Obsessed (firefighter22 on these forums) for less and made exactly for you!

Brand new is priced at $349.99?
Is this a good price for a 130 Gal?
Thanks Trigger :thanks:

I've been shopping around for one too. North American Fish Breeders seem to have good prices and most people say good things. Here's a sample of some quotes I got:
48X24X24=120g $239
60X18X24=112g $239
Holes are $30 each and overflow is about $75.

Johnny makes a nice tank and his prices can't be beat!
I think my next tank might come from Firefighter though as he does a little more polishing and everyone says his tanks are nice!

Thanks I'm going to contact Firefighter22 & get a quote!
If he doesn't come through where would I get a tank drilled & an overflow box installed? Perhaps ORG does a good job of this?
What size holes would I need for a 24X24X72 with a center overflow?
Also what is a reccommended size of sump/refugium?
Thanks Trigger :thanks:

ORG drilled a tank for me. They drill 2.5 inch holes only but then you can use any adapter to change the output size if needed. I'm sure they can install overflows too cause I see a bunch around in the store. I hear they can come to your house and drill for you as well but I have no idea what that costs. They told me they haven't ruined any tanks as of yet so Id say they are probably doing a good job of it. I heard somewhere (maybe here) that someone had their new tank drilled, and it was large, at big als and they cracked it. Ouch! But I think 2 inch overflow holes would be good. I was thinking of getting my 90 drilled and I was looking at a single 1.5 inch hole.

I would ask for references or post on the board who had experience dealing with the supplier you chose.....
Have read horror stories on custom tank suppliers not delivering and just giving plenty of excuses......check RC and you will see some of these stories.....
That is why I like stock tank.....All Glass and Oceanic are what I consider Casio and ESQ of the watch world......

Duce,
I can understand your concerns here - but I have checked up on Aquarium Obsessed - and he has received RAVE REVIEWS!! I won't allow any company to become an AquariumPros.ca Sponsor without a background check of the company.
Another good thing...Aquarium Obsessed is local to me, and should anything bad occur - we can always organize a mob to take care of it. :whipit:
Sorry Will...I know that you're a good guy! Just yankin your chain.

I have checked with ORG & they drill 2 1/2" Dia holes & fit the tank with a 1 1/2 " Dia adapter. I have got in touch with Firefighter22 & he is looking into a quote for a setup.
Thanks everyone for your help. I may need some assistance choosing all the hardware as this is all new to me! I have been told to use a 65 Gal as a sump/refugium is there any good reference for making on of these from a bare tank? I know ORG will charge me $150.00 to convert a 65. This includes plumbing for 4 holes. Any idea what those holes will do? 1 drain 2 return 1 RO feed?

$150 for four holes?
Figure the Bulkheads alone are at least $15 a piece. There's $60 and holes are typically $25 a pieces so there's $100.
It's not a bad price really.
