The GenX PCX (which is this years equivalent of Mak4) is my first external pump. Any advice on connecting it, or is it just put on the 3/4 threads, and attach flex hose with clamps.
-Do I use plumber thread on the 3/4 threaded joint so it doesn't leak?

Michael,
Just connect it buddy - they are really a very easy to use/plumb pump.
If you're using flex hose - then you are bang-on. I would use a bit of plumbers (Teflon) tape to ensure a leak-free fit - and just tighten the connections to the 3/4" thread HAND TIGHT - then a small turn with a wrench just to ensure a snug fit. Do not over-tighten - or you may crack the housing.
You're off to the races!! :D
BTW...Great pump you have. Congrat's!

Another suggestion:
If you want to make it easier to service or replace the pump in the future, you caould also put a true union shut-off valve on each end. That way you can easily dissconnect the pump without having to worry about water syphoning through the hose ends.
