I start in aquarium about 9 or 10 year ago whith a 27 gallon
salt water aquarium run whith an undergravel fiter and a aquaclear filter now that same tank is my sump all these years after.

I switch this 27 for a 60X18X24 whith a wet dry UV and bare bottom and then add a amiracle proteine skimmer (I dont know where they see the miracle in that scapt) them i slowly ugrad this tank and moved them until the 4 of june 2001 my house goes on fire the bachelor of my house completly burn upstare the fire get only in the kitchen by the wall and my central air conditionning get the smoke every were in the house
so I have to put the reef out of my house
for the reconstruction and cleaning of the mess. the only ting i wanted to save in the house was the reef. The firefighter cut the water and the electricity so I open all windows, rent a generator, and add a couple off fan. Then I buy a big bucket a dolley and a new 130 gal.the old one was a 103 gallon and transfer the stuff in the bucket and roll it in my grand father house
just a corner from my home. Luckuily i dont loose any life in the reef. after all have finish 6 month later it was the time to transfer back my reef . then i finally convert my reef whith deep sand bed i buy the famous tropical sand and i put it in the new tank

now the tank consist of
2 iwasaki soon upgrade to tree when the new canopy finish 3x 03 actnic VHO on icecap ballast a kalkwaser reactor, r/o tree stage I have already order a new 4 stage di 100GPD, my DIY skimmer run whit a mag 18, wave maker redsea, tree power head, and litle giant 3 mdqxsc,

I do water change about 15 % each mont and add no additive

I have to say that i have dinoflagelate for about 1 month they are more in the bottom rock and sand and probably normal because
of the the new DSB I hope it will not grow under control because they are very bad they already kill me 5 astrea I have to put them on the upper glass of the of the tank because when they are on the bottom they parralise an die

on the other hand my 4 queen conch seem to realy love the algea whithout any sign of non healty they eat it it like hells
so now i do water changer 25% every week until that craps goes
off

that it for tonight

No- Tank You! More questions to follow.

Mostly concerning why we can not find healthy livestock and quality products in the Maritimes.

Here, that bubble would cost 150 bux, be half dead when it arrived, kept in water of death, then they act surprised that you won't buy.

Anyway, another soapbox.

Regards,

Brian

...just to make sure you don't forget about little ole me and our livestock/equipment...

I can assure you that we would have NO problem getting a VERY healthy bubble to you overnight...and unless it's a HUGE coral...it wouldn't be $150.00 either!

Just have to try to keep the board afloat! :D ;)

Cheers...

Here are new pics I have finish my top and install new light

I have now 3 saki 6500 kelvin 250watt run by magnetique ballast +3 optimal perpendicular refector + 3x philip actinic VHO run by an ICE CAP ballast I have added 4x 3 5/8 12volt fans
The optimal refector made a huge diference in intencity and I have to cut down the MH light time and slowly get it up because then Coral retract as the light was to intense

the color is very pleasant and not yellow at all. I join new pic of
the tank to and I will take photo of the canopy whit light off to see the canopy design soon.

Hi Stephane:wave:

Your tank looks great:)

That skimmer is a monster, I may have to get one:D

Should have mine up and running soon just putting the finishing touches on the sump/plumbing.

I managed to fit it into the sump, I went with the empty 55gal glass tank, I had kickin around rather than acrylic:)

I'll fire ya over the pics when it's done:)

stephane
May 31st, 2002, 07:19 PM
the canopy is split in two so any side could flip over very helful when you want to work in the tank some have door who could open but I like more to have all the top off the tank clear when I want to work in it I will send other picture of the top that way you will see who it work note that any side of the tank could be open, front or back
