Just thought I'd start a thread on blue mushrooms. Please post pics of yours. Aren't they beautiful.

I am a Huge mrushroom collector and Andy, Chaz, and fiships
have great colour on your mushrooms. I have seen thousands of mushrooms from
our shippments and only a small percent look like your mushrooms. Nice stuff guys!!!

Andy, curious, could you detail your setup? Specifically any additives to the system, your general setup (ie. skimmer, DSB, etc.) and most importantly, what lighting you're using.

Then can I ask... where did you get those shrooms?

Thanks guys. Mushrooms are wonderful in their place. Ideally a softy tank is where I would prefer to house them.

jastonataquapro: I have a 280 gallon reef. Lit by 3 400 watt radiums (HQI ballasts) and 2 VHO actinics (Ice Cap ballasts). Was lit by 6 VHOs and 1 NO up until about 1 month ago. Precision Marine CR422 calcium reactor; My Reef Creations MR-3 skimmer; TS-24 Tunze Turbelle Stream pump kit (up to 3000 gph flow per powerhead); kalkwasser reactor from Stephane; Reefiller Dosing pump; Pacific Coast 1/4 hp chiller from ORG. I don't add any additives to the system. No phytoplankton yet. Have a shallow sand bed (~2" deep). Mainly CaribSea select grade sand.

I've had mushroom colonies for year. I purchased them mainly from Peters Reef Pond in Sudbury and Superior Reef Aquatics in North Bay.

I am more than willing to take cutting for anyone that wants any. I can bring them down to southern Ontario on one of my many visits there.
