OK
I need someone with experience in bad algae ID to come over and tell me what the hell I have in my tank. It is covering everything including the snails. It is to hard to get a decent pic but it is like a mucas covering, clear to grey in color.
Right now I am using red slime remover in hopes but it does not seem to be helping.

This stuff is driving me nuts!

Maybe it is not a algae at all or at least a Filamentous or slime algae but rather a fungus of some type.

Try searching under that and ya may get lucky

Just a thought

Have you compared it to a picture of dynoflagelates? It sounds very similar. Dyno is a little bit brown in color, but has the same mucusy characteristics.

Br carefull with the slime remover. The active ingredient is an anti biotic and can kill your biofilter.
