Job Description:

Moderators read the forums, some the whole site, and help answer questions, promote interest in their forums and take on thread administration. This involves closing, moving, stickying threads as well as editing posts that do not conform to the rules and making requests for further action to be taken by the Admin team.

Qualifications:

You must be an active poster/reader of forums that you wish to moderate. We are not just looking for experts, we are looking for the leaders of the site that share their common sense and experiences with others.
You must be familiar with the site so that you can refer people to where the answers to their questions would be easily found.
You must have patience enough to answer the same question that was asked 10 times and most people think should be common knowledge. Mods are teachers in essence.
You must be able to take a non-biased stance. Every staff member of AP is representing the entire site when they post.
Time. Reading the forum posts takes up time each day. If your life is already hectic, don't try to squeeze more time out of it to be a staff member.
Leadership and responsibility. Do as you say. Don't play favorites. Don't turn a blind eye. Be willing to do what it takes to be a mod.
