View Full Version : Mystery Snail - Is it dangerous.

Looked into my tank tonight to find a 1 inch snail... It looks very similar to a cowrie snail (shell, and is covered in polyps when extracted) what worries me is that it does not have a mouth on its base (like turbo and astrea). Are all cowrie snails this way? The shell looks nothing like a cone snail so Im pretty sure im in no danger.... Here is a bad picture, I put it in a seperate container but not sure whether to keep this guy. Its shell when closed in a tan and darkbrown

No will get one in the morning, we think we managed to ID it as a money cowrie (thankfully one of the reef safe ones), but will confirm tommorow
