View Full Version : Do Pods build towers?

In my FOWLR tank, I have some small tubes being built off the sand bed.
Each one has an occupant that shows two feelers and a pair of black eyes.
I am assuming bilateral symmetry and believe them to be Pods.
But I was not aware that Pods would build structures like this.
Can anyone confirm?

Sorry for the fuzzy pic.
I am trying.

Spionid worm. Thanks AJ. I agree. They seem to be harmless so I will let them be.
It is so wonderful that after so may years in this hobby, it can still surprise me!
So much to learn in this....I am amazed...:D

from another site

"Spionids are a family of small, thin polychaete worms that build their tubes from sand and other small particles. The Spionids pictured have two feeder tentacles that they stretch out to find food. They are beneficial scavengers that feed on detritus and small organic particles."
