I'm upgrading my Olympus C-3040Z, which is an excellent camera, but the macro is not very strong.
I'm looking for a 5megapixels camera with an excellent macro capabilities, true colors and good auto focus.
I'm thinking to get Olympus C-5050Z, but still considering other cameras, such as Nikon Coolpix 5400.
I just tried Canon G5 and although it has a good macro and nice natural colors the auto-focus is terrible.

I would mostly use it for aquarium and underwater shots.

Any recommendations?

Hi Player

I just purchased a Pentax Optio 550 digital camera and am very happy with it. It is a 5 MP camera with 4X digital zoom and 5X optical zoom for a zoom magnification equivalent to 20X. It has manual focus which I really like. Macro is excellent as well. In super macro mode, you can get within 2 cm of your subject.

Optio 550 looks good, but it doesn't really have any underwater housing available, I would need something I can use for diving too.
I think I will go with Olympus C-5050, it looks like the best value and most divers are using C-3040-C-5050 with great success.

I am using the Sony f707 5 meg, the Carl Zeiss lens is amazing. I am seriously looking at the new Sony f828 about $1700 and a 8 meg , these Sony's are terrific.

I love Sony and agree about Carl Zeiss lenses. The only two problems with Sony is that their memory sticks are very expensive and there are no underwater housing for less than 1k US.
FYI: I use this site to check underwater housing - http://www.digideep.com/. It's really good for anyone interested in underwater photography.

I'm pretty happy with my Canon. I found the Nikons I have played with seem to have more settings for the hard core camera guys out there.

Sony is nice but the memory sticks make them a write-off in my books. Anything proprietary always bites you in the bum in the long run.
