Time has gone soooo quickly! Its amazing I've had my nano setup for 1 year now. When I first set it up I wasnt even sure if I was gonna add a small puffer or go with the reef. Well, now I'm glad I went with the reef.

Here are some pics!

Sorry about the size of this post!! (not really :mixed: )

The pocillipora from my First MAST coral cutting workshop that got me started on SPS.

Seems like I havent taken a full tank shot in a while!! I'll have to get that tonight.

I also have a ton more photos, descriptions and all that kinda stuff on my reef site. My reef site: www.myfishes.com (http://www.myfishes.com/)

Thanks to everyone who's helped me over the years directly and indirectly by sharing your knowledge and experience. :boohoo:

Wow,

Those are some awsome pics!! What is your setup? I am just starting my 20g nano (you can see pics of my new starphire tank in the post below.)

Need help in deciding what lights to get for it. I am thinking a 175w 14k MH - what do u think?

Hi,
Tank setup is currently. 20H, 5G refugium with a dsb.
1x250Ushio, 2x13w hellolights actnic, 1x15w marineglow.
2xMaxijet 600, 2xmaxijet 400, and one small aquaclear to pump up to the refugium.
Powerheads are on a red sea wavemaster pro

The camera I used was the Canon A70. Was gonna upgrade to a digital rebel, but just purchased a new comp for the gf, so that leaves my camera fund a little low. O well...

Nice looking tank!!!
couple of familar looking frags....hehehe
I second the question of what camera you are using to take those pictures..Also what technique do you havae to take such good shots? I can't never get good quality shots with my digital. I use an Olympus 720 and a Canon G2, and can't seem to get good clear shots.

Hey Commie. A couple of those pics should look familiar =)

Canon A70. Try and have the frag close to the front glass when taking the photo. Macro mode, no flash. If at all possible use a tripod for best results. The nikons are suppose to have an excellent macro mode.

Another thing to keep in mind is the photos I put up are 800x600 or less. Part of it is to save webspace, but also if you have a 3MP image for example, you can do a fair amount of cropping to get a nice tight shot and still have an 800x600 image left over. So just try to get a clear photo of your coral, and crop in photoshop later.

I wouldnt mind going down to you guys places to try taking some photos. Still wishing I can get that digital rebel.... Maybe some more begging....

PS. Commie that monti is growing great! Looks awesome under actinics!! Too bad its hard to get a gd photo that shows it off.

Thanks Michael for the tutor on digital photography. We should find some time and get a group of people together and have a digital photography lesson/session on someone's tank. With so many experts here, it could be very much learning experience for us beginners. Maybe a city tour...hehehe

Oh ya, that 3rd picture of the frag you got from Dayne, do you know what the name is? I have the same frag from him. Has it been growing for you? Mine gets keep knock down by a big turbo snail, just recently has grown a base, and showing signs of growth.
BTW- i think you might have red bugs on that frag as well. a big britch to get rid off!!!

I know. I saw the red bugs. They dont seem to be doing any harm, and havent spread. I'd actualy say their numbers are slowing reducing. The weird thing is I never noticed them before adding that frag, and I noticed them the day after adding nthe frag, but I know Dayne doesnt have any in his tank, and I have some macro shots of the frag in the bag and no signs of bugs, so I'm kinda confused where they came from.

That frag is actualy growing pretty well. Color is gd, encrusting slowly but tips are definately getting longer and a new branch has started.
