Is that a glass tank with acrylic baffles/etc siliconed into place?

If so...as soon the water starts to put pressure on it...the silicone won't hold onto the acrylic.

You will have to silicone small pieces of glass to the side walls to hold the acrylic into place.

yea it is a temp Sump.. lol, in talks with having someone build me a nice one out of Acrylic.. But im holding on that till i get into the new house..

So yea.. The water line is going to be right up to the top off that acrylic.. so there will be even water pressure i think on either side.. The baffel is just to prevent some of the bubbles

WELL!!

the good thing is i kept the glass i broke.. lol, That i had recived to use as Eurobracing on my old tank.. so im just looking for some with Flat edges.. to use :)

Took the advice of AJ and installed some Glass braces :)

If I were to give you some advice on how to build your sump using glass and acrylic it would be this; forget the acrylic altogether. I built my first sump using acrylic for the baffles and it wasn't long before the baffles started to bow out and the silicone let go. Use glass for the baffles. It's cheap and relatively easy to cut. I tore apart an old tank for my baffles. You can smooth the edges of the glass using a rubbing stone or a block of wood and some wet sandpaper (black in colour and very fine grit).
