March's meet will take place in Meadowvale. For those that don't know where that is, it's pretty much the most North Western part of Mississauga. It borders to Milton. You can reach it from the 401 and Erin Mills Parkway, or even 401 and Winston Churchill.
For our March meet, which will be Thursday, February 12th, 2009 at 7:30 in Mississauga at mikemikemike's house.
(the actual location of the meet will be PM'd to everyone on the attending list the night before the meet)
At our February meet, we discussed "membership fee's". Reason being, things need to get paid for like the upcoming WGMS website, WMGS cards to leave on local stores' counters to advertise the WGMS, beverages for meets, etc.
We plan to have a $20 membership fee per person, $25 per family, as well as a couple other specials.
For March's meet, we wanted to introduce an Early Bird special of a $15 membership. This will only be available for March's meet. Come April, it will go to the planned $20.
The memberships will renew every April meet, every year. If you join 6 months in to the cycle, it will still be $20. We are also working out deals for those who join within a couple months of April every year.
So far, our itinerary at meets has been as such; first checkout the host's tank, discuss it, help answer questions the host might have. The host can hear suggestions from other, etc.
After that, we're free to relax for a bit, and discuss whatever aquarium topics we have in mind.
All-in-all, the meets have usually went on for about 2 to 3 hours. Just so you know.
So far, from our March meet discussion thread (found here: hhttp://www.aquariumpros.ca/forums/showthread.php?t=36696 (http://www.aquariumpros.ca/forums/showthread.php?t=35969)), here is the current attendance list:
