Just wanted to share some pics of my new purchase. Picked it up 4 days ago from NAFB. I love the colour on this thing. It's the brightest coral in my tank.

Sorry for the shaky camera work. I was trying to keep the fish away from the food and hit the tripod a few times.

Camera - Old School Canon 6.1MP Digital Rebel on Tripod
Frames - Taken approx 45 seconds between shots
Duration - approx 30 mins
Lighting - Coralife 20,000K 150w HQI. no actinics

Awesome stuff! Now if only they eat that fast before my fish and shrimps pick on the PE mysis:) Great work!

You got it, it's a turkey baster from the dollar store. I'm feeding them mysis shrimp. Eat's like a champ. Even the smaller polyps are able to fit the shrimp thru their mouths.

Acans are able to eat and consume much larger piece of meaty food ... I cut up little chunks of Sand eels .. at least three times larger than a Mysis shrimps.

Great shots. I always love watch corals eating. Kinda neat to see how much effort is required for them to eat.

I usually use Adobe Image Ready that came with older versions of Photoshop but i don't have it installed on this computer. I downloaded a trial version of ULEAD GIF Animator 5. It's a 15 day trial. Looks almost exactly the same as Image Ready.

It probably took about 2 days for it to fully open up for me.

To my knowledge .... Acan tend to favour a less Bright area ... maybe in-direct light to fully expand/puff up their polyps.

Freshly purchased Acans usually takes a while to acclimatise ... give it some time and TLC .... they'll show you some Love in return .... :blove:!!
