Send free text messages to a cell phone

Here are a few SMS links that I thought I'd share. I forgot about them until I was asked how to send a text if your cell had died (long story). Needless to say here they are, never know if they'll come in handy. Rogers and Fido you need to set up a free account but that's because it's 2 way texting but the others are just straight one way text forms.

You can also send messages through email with most major providers. I do this will bell. Example: 416111222@txt.bell.ca

Also if you are unsure about what email address you would use with your provider to send a text msg to your phone, a lot of phones will allow you to send a text msg to an email address where you will see in the from heading the address you can use.

Some people use this feature with a reefkeeper2 and MyReef to have the RK2 send a txt to a mobile via email.

Yep that usually works but not always as some companies require that you pay for the email to text service. Worth a try anyways;

You can also use MSN (or any other IM client) to send them a text message. Either add their phone number to your contact list or select the send text message button.
