All MAST membership meetings until June 2002, shall be held at the Hillcrest Library (south edge of Pickle Barrel Mall), 5801 Leslie Street (halfway between Finch and Steeles Avenue East)
Meeting attendance has nearly doubled in the past year. We had to relocate here twice last fall and received very positive feedback from members about the new site. It is a much larger, more comfortable meeting place. There is also FREE parking. All these factors led to the decision to relocate MAST meetings permanently to this location.

If you come by TTC:

a) From Finch subway, take the “Cummer 42” bus to Leslie St. Walk south one block past the Pickle Barrel Mall to the library.

b) From Eglinton subway, take the “Leslie 51” bus to Clansman Blvd., immediately south of the library.

I am interested in attending a MAST meeting but have not seen any postings about times etc. It does not look like the MAST thread gets updated. Is there a calendar section I am missing, or do people just look at the daily postings and wait for announcements? Also, I assume that the site is still the same? I am a bit unsure as the last post reads All MAST membership meetings until June 2002, shall be held at the Hillcrest Library. Please clarify for me as I’d love to come and meet some more reefers!

Hi was thinking about joining but was just wondering if the club is active and if a lot of people come to meetings (or whether it is just a small handful of regulars)

Thanks

MAST is very much still active and is one of the oldest and largest Marine Aquarium clubs around that was co-founded by Charles Delbeek; a legend in the industry & hobby!

Here's some more info:

Contact StevieK here on AP.ca, as he's now the MAST President and a great contact!

Joining MAST would be a fantastic choice that will only help your likeness of success (and you'll meet a bunch of fellow addicts too). :)

The club is very active and I have been a member for many years and they have been consistently holding meeting every month (except July and August). I think there were about 20-30 people in each meeting and I would say about 15 were regulars, like myself.

The meetings are well structured. You just show up to enjoy and learn. Don't expect that you will learn all of the stuff in one meeting. But you will learn a little bit each time for sure. Just ask if you have any questions or things you need help during the meeting.

They also have mini auction in every meeting that you can bring stuff to sell or just buy stuff. Note that the club takes 30% worth of what you sell. A little bit high, but they need the money to fund high profile speakers to come!
