Well...honestly..these pics dont do the items justice but...
I thought ya might want to have a peak regardless...have not
had time to practice and ...well....I will GET TO IT OK!! HEHEHE

Here are some pics hope you enjoy....the clam is soooo

God I love these little fish! Meet Perky!

Sohal Tang
November 7th, 2003, 09:59 PM
tried to get a few fish TOGETHER in one shot...
here they cruize in front of a large cave entance into the rock...
into that part of rock they can cruize along the back behind
the rock face and come out the other side or there is one or two
other spots they can come out...THE POWDER BLUE often
glides back there and pops out in a spot you least expect him...neat sometimes.....lots of current back there with maxi jet 1200 preventing dead spots.....
hope you enjoyed the shots!
:D

Hey Tim

Nice pixs. Looks like you are getting the hang of that camera. What type is it again.

Sohal Tang
November 7th, 2003, 10:07 PM
Its a Nikon Coolpix 800....I don't know much about them....
but....I know that I could practice and practice and still
NEVER be able to use what this camera can produce likely....
It is a little dated now I believe but super value for what I need.
I mean...I could have paid double and have a dated one a year from now..so....Red Sea sold me this one and I love it!
Just starting to figure the darn thing out hehe including 8 RECHARGEABLES!!! HEHEH anddddd I also bought a power adapter for CONVIENIENCE! I am READY TO ROCK! HEHE

Red Sea...if you are reading this send me a PM and tell me
how to TURN THIS FLASH OFF SO that I can take NIGHT pics
with just actinics on! ehehehe thanks! :thanks:

Hows the tank Andy? :)

Tim

tim what kind of clam is that? Looks alittle pail?

Sohal Tang
November 7th, 2003, 10:55 PM
little reefer that is NOT the colour of this clam...
the pics are not right as I am not good with camera yet.
This is a sort of beige coloured clam with purple middle
and a tad of green around the edge like a fine border....
Ask Flavio...it is GORGEOUS! bUT...the pic does not show
you that unfortunately...I do not like turning my pumps
off and stuff otherwise I could perhaps take a pic from
top down that would show the colour that would blow you
away....come and see it! I am in Collingwood if you want
to take a drive...I am 45 minutes from Barrie hehe
thanks for the concern...it is the colour of the clam...very
unusual and rare colour I am told by ORG.

Tim nice pics, btw there is 3 buttons on the top of camera, the fist one from left closest to flash is the Macro button with pic of flower & mountain, the second one which is the middle is the flash control every time you press it it changes the mode from full flash then red eye reduction then slow flash then off, when in off mode you will see on the screen with an X on the flash symbol, it is best to take tank pics without flash so doesn't bounce back of the glass & cause a reflection or hase...

tim,

What Image rendering software do you use!

One program that works very well Adobe Photoshop 7.0 and you can do the Auto levels option to also help clear up the images.

Sohal Tang
November 8th, 2003, 12:38 AM
mine is photoshop 5
but I do not know squat about using it
other then reducing image for internet sending etc....

You mean I can make a picture that had a flash on it
look like no flash was used? hehehe

Also...little reefer...that clam is so PAIL (PALE) EHEHEHEHEH
that Flavio brought it's twin brother home he was
telling me...hehe

I love that clam Tim. It is really unique!! Next time you have to shut off pumps take a top view shot, I bet it looks fantastic from above!!

Sohal Tang
November 8th, 2003, 10:27 AM
Thanks Paul...
ya it looks pretty neat from top down
but it has been a while since I viewed it
that way because the top of my water
BOILS. And...I hate shutting pumps off.

But...it looks unique no doubt...
There are purples and blues I have
yet to purchase that are gorgeous but
this one is apparently a RARE one so I
snagged it...Flavio was taking the other one
like it he told me.

But man o man these things are HARD
to place on the rock I find...Finally I
found a spot that he will STAY STILL !!
hehehe

When you coming to COllingwood? hehe
I am off to ORG TODAY!! che ching!

Hey Tim, I had one of these brain corals at one time it was huge 6"+ until one day I got an angel fish and made a quick meal out of it, damn angels never trust them...

Sohal Tang
November 9th, 2003, 10:46 AM
No I dont trust them Dan...that is exactly why I do NOT
purchase a flame angel..although I like them and likely no
trouble..ta heck with the small risk...not needed.....
Man that is a nice brain....hopefully mine will grow that size
my new brain is only about 3" if that...
I am sure it will do well though it is looking good today....
and I finally got a gorgeous hammer that will look
great too once it grows out a little more...

My calcium is at 440 and alk at 11 CHE CHING!

November 9th, 2003, 11:07 AM
Hey Tim...how are you getting your calcium up so high? I've been using B-Ionic and, although the PH is up to 8.2 and kh to 12 degrees, can't seem to get the calcium to move off the 350-375 range. Ideally would like to be around 450...

Thoughts?

Mark

ya ...I knew some wiseguy would make a crack on that one!! hehe
Was going out on a limb but LOVVVE to take the chance now and then hehehehe

I use TURBO CALCIUM BY KENT to get the calcium level up
and REEF BUILDER by Seachem to keep the ALK up
in ADDITION to B-Ionic...

I was finding the same...the highest I could get calcium was
350 till the TURBO CAL kicked in...but ya gotta watch the
alk at the same time as the calc raises the alk will or COULD
drop from what I am told....

It is a balancing act and I am just starting to really get the
hang of it I feel.
