Well I suppose we should get around to at least talking about a meeting date in September before we get too much closer to September! Admittedly summer is full of so many great things going on that it's hard to fully concentrate on fish and corals like we might in the fall and winter time! By the end of September though many of us might be back into the swing of things again.

How does Saturday September 27th at the regular time work? I'm in the Lockwood Park area which is off Commissioners Road in south London.

As for projects, we can toss ideas around. I wondered if Mike is coming, maybe he can grab a couple of pieces of acrylic and show us how you make your own acrylic aquariums since he mentioned awhile ago that he'd done that. Other thoughts are finally getting a fragging lesson in which I know we've talked about doing at other meetings. Any other thoughts or suggestions are welcome. Those two were just off the top of my head. Cheers!

I think that date works well for me. What sort of coral would we use for a fragging demo? I will probably be in Oakville before the next meeting, so I could possibly pick something up from ORG if need be.

That date should work for me as of right now. I know the 21st is out for sure. I will know more as we get closer to September. I'd be up for doing a fragging session and frag up some corals and attach them to rock or plugs or something. The acrylic thingy work for me as well. I can start saving leftover acrylic pieces from work so we have something to work with. Either way works for me.

So shall we call it the 27th and move on to the frag offerings that everyone will be bringing? :D I will update the website to reflect this date.

It appears that I will be unable to make the September meeting as it's my golf final tourney. They've promised a live band and a few Bud girls.
Anyone care to challenge that?
I'll see everyone in November.
Careful not to burn up any appliances.

I think I suggested Karoake for the last meeting ... so yea no band ... we might be able to get a few girls named Bud ... if that changes anything... :) . Have we decided whats going to happen at the meeting?? I'm working on getting my husband out to this one, but the promise of fish talk just isn't cutting it. sigh... apparently all boys aren't fish nerds.

Are we still good for Sept 27th? We haven't heard from all that many people at this point so I don't now if it's the summer hangover effect in play here or what? We could always postpone a couple of weeks or a month if that helps boost attendance...?? It would be nice to see a good turnout. Thoughts?

I can't make it on the 27th, my wife said something about celebrating our 10th anniversary. I suggested doing it by spending the day in TO visiting fish stores and coming to the meeting in the afternoon and she suggested that she start the day by buying a new shovel, some plastic sheets, digging a big hole...well you get the point.

Have a great time.

Should be fine, we'll have a decent turn out I'm sure.

As for frags, I can frag off a few frags of neon green candy cane if anyone wants some. I have a few red mushrooms free floating, and if anyone wants any brown button polyps, I'll give them as many as they want...FREE.

Looking for pocillopora, acans, any monti caps, or monti dig, nice zoos and xenia for the daycare.

Great, I can give you some "high quality" zoos in exchange :pompom::pompom::pompom::pompom:.

Mark

PS - if anyone has any zoo predators (box snail, nice zoo eating fish) I'd love to borrow them for a while.

sounds awesome!!!!!!! as for the predators are your brown button polyps that out of control? not sure if it would work or not but id bet it would, could you use a piece of landscape fabric and cover them for a while, they would stay in the dark that way and die from no light getting to them, would look funny for a bit but may cure your problem with out losing real nice zoos aswell, just an idea

Thing is I have no nice zoos in that tank, they are definitely growing well. I have actually taken some out and into my sump (so dark) for 6 weeks, and although they bleach out, they still live, and will return to their original form pretty quick. These are indestructible.

Somewhere in that sea, there is actually a box snail eating away, but too slow compared to the volume (not making a dent after 6 months but he has grown some :))

I'm almost sure I will be there. Will the person with the membership cards bring some to the meeting. The day I paid there was no cards and I missed the picknic so I would like to get one at this meeting if possible.

I have lots of spare live rock (cured and ready to go). If I lug it to the meeting will there be any interest? I have at very least 30lbs total looking for about $4/lbs. I'll also be bringing some LPS and Softies for trade or sale.

Well tomorrow is only a day away. Sorry I haven't been on much but I have been busy. I was unable to get enough stuff together for an acrylic workshop so we will have to suffice for a coral fragging workshop. I have set aside a beautiful branching frogspawn that we will be fragging up tomorrow. I will be bringing all tools required to cut and attach frags of the coral so not much will be needed. If you have a tool you like to you by all means please bring it and show everyone. Things you may want to bring would be something to attach a smaal frag to (eg. small rock, plugs, ect...). I will have glue, 2 part epoxy, plugs, disks and stuff with. All up to date members will be able to frag a head of this coral and take it home with them at the meeting tomorrow. So everyone read up on fragging frogspawn (it's not that hard).

If anyone has a coral they would like to frag up for them selves or selling off at the meeting, bring it along to the meeting and you are more than welcome to use the tools.

Sounds great! I am looking forward to tomorrow!

I will be bringing a few frags of zoos. Here is a pic of the main colony:

Frags will have about 15 or more heads and will be $10 if you are interested.

See you tomorrow!

Just thought I would bring the address of the meeting up for everyone again and that it is starting at 1pm.

Mark, if possible can you bring me a small piece of the green candy cane as mine bite the bullet in the move?

Sea everyone there!

Mike

I want to thank Kevin for hosting the meeting today.
While it wasn't the largest turnout, it was nice to see your tank and to see all the tools Mike has for fragging corals. Thanks Mike.
Of course, it was also nice to have a frogspawn frag as I have no frogspawn up to now.

yea it was a good meeting for sure. I still say nametags are a must but meh .. there wasn't 20 people there this time. I'm glad to have a frogspawn again too ... now I just have to move the clowns .... that should be fun .... Kevin thanks for hosting. You tank looks great. Emma had a great time too.
