I found only some of my livestock has enough character for names. For instance, my undead star fish, despite being fairly active, never earned a name. The "star" of the show, my huge hermit crab (unknown species) was named Hermie by my mom for some reason. My good fish, an unknown species of damsel or chromis, is Geboren after a mild-mannered but corageous prince in a series I'm reading. And my evil (and for sale/trade/adoption... I'll consider PAYING someone to take him!;) ) damsel is called Vain - don't ask why, it just stuck. None of the snails or blue-legs or scarlet reef hermit crabs are named, as aren't the corals, but my husband thinks the Peppermint shrimp deserves one. Any suggestions?!

Hipo tang-Fibi, because I new someone with this name and she was a b***H too....lol
jewel bleenie- Darwin, because when I put the magnifying glass up to the tank he always comes running to look through...who knows why
yellow boxfish- Theo...I don't know how he got it
clown fish- wriggles, cause thats what he does to his anemone
1st Porcupine puffer- squirt, because he CONSTANTLY squirts water out of the surface of the tank. It was cute at first but got to be a pain when the ENTIRE outside of the tank got coated in drip marks on a daily basis. I since got a glass cover after making them a refugium.
2nd porcupine puffer-Babs, after my favorite cartoon character.
thats it for me

The Yellow tail damsel is Little Lulu
and the 6 line wrasse and the fairy wrasse have no names.

My daughter, before seeing Nemo, named the ocellaris clowns Mom and Wobble. Not sure where the Mom came from, but Wobble ... well ... wobbles in front of the other clown. It's the submissive, twitch thing. Post Nemo, they're Nemo and Marlin.
My wife and I named the royal gramma Elvis. I mean, really, could there be a better name? Goes into hiding (just like the real, living King) ... and, well, he's royal! And he looks like he's wearing one of the Vegas jumpsuits.

Blue damsel - Ruri
In Japan they are known as Ruri-Suzumedai and Ruri is a Japanese woman's name so.....
Firefish - Roket
Another one based on a foreign name, I forget which but somewhere in southeast Asia they are known as Roket Antenna. Or something like that.
Red scooter blenny - Benny
Self explanatory.
Serpent star - Freddy
He got burned on my heater and healed up all scarred like Freddy Krueger. It died last week, though.
Emerald crabs - David, Goliath and Bruce.
David was first and had no name but then I got a huge emerald so named them David and Goliath. Goliath died and when I replaced him the new one became Bruce because the Hulk was known as Bruce Banner in the comics but David in the TV show. Both being green and having a David already Bruce seemed natural.
Cleaner Shrimp - Jacques
Same reason as everyone else, Nemo.
Blood shrimp - Huey, Duey and Louie
Because I had three, but only two now so I don't bother to call them anything.
Brain Coral - Bob
Just because.
Nothing else has a name.

Bangaii cardinal pair-Cara and Jeff (after my cousins because Jeff wants more kids so we thought he could give birth if he wanted anymore and our male bangaii does the mouth brooding hence the name)
yellow Tang-Daphne (just suits her)
Huge red pacific Crab-Although the terminator would suit him we've named him Bert- again my husbands doing
Royal Gramma named Jewel because of her pretty colors
And we have yet to name our brand new green Mandarin but the vote so far is Rainbow

in my nano cube, my 2 clowns are The Fish Formerly Known as Nemo and the other is The Symbol. i figured i'd go with the whole Prince theme.
in my 20 gal, i had Lunch Box who was a Cardinal (RIP i miss him still) he was named after Kevin Smith. and my maroon clown is named Bella, after my girlfriend (her middle name) and because they are both so beautiful :D and then there is Outhouse, who is a square looking fish, i cant remember what its proper name is at the moment.

My Son and I have named most of mine.
My first fish was a Tomato Clown and (s)he got called Tom. Later when we figured out that he was a she we had to change it: Tom -> Tom Thumb -> Thumbelina -> Lina
Next came Sarge our peppermint shrimp. From Sergeant Pepper of course.
One of the red leg hermits had a red shell and the other had a green one: Ruby and Emerald
The two blue leg hermits became 'Big Blue' and 'Little Blue'. Big blue now occupies Emerald's old shell and Little Blue moved into Ruby's.
Turbo Snails: T1 and T2
We never see the nasarious, so they never got named
The second Tomato, was definitely a male. He was named by Squirt by my Daughter. Probably had something to do with his size. He was pretty small.
The dragonet? Puff. From Puff the Magic Dragon :wink-grin
The Yellow Watchman Goby is Bilbo and we have not named the BTA.
