I don't know if this is a new thing or not, but the other day at Home Depot (in Kingston) I found that they are now carrying John Guest type fittings for plumbing water lines. These things are great for any one building calcium/kalk reactors or skimmers.

Just thought I'd pass this on if anyone like myself just found this out.

Some of the HD's do carry the knock-offs.

They are not actual John-Guest fittings - but usually an Asian-Made copy. I have used these before...most with no problems, but I have had some fittings that have failled (cracked, leaked, etc.).

They will work...just don't put them into a situation that a failure would be costly. Look at the price of true John-Guest fittings (I have them in the shopping cart area)...and compare it to the pricing of the Home Depot ones.

If you are using them in a pressure situation...then I would suggest getting the real ones to prevent the situation I encountered (a VERY wet floor & wall).
