Ok I see that there isn't very much going on here for Freshwater fish, but some of you Marine Pro out there must keep africans! Lets here about them, and your interest in their behaviours.

Would be nice to see the fw start to get some activity again, but I think it may take some time. I myself haven't kept africans yet. In time i am sure i will.. But not yet.

Now what you need is to get a SW setup ;)

Welcome to AP.

hi i just joined this forum. im slowly getting into setting up my tank. im looking at cichlids right now. still have to do a bit of reading about what species i want to keep. i really like the Firemouth, but i also like some of the african species, which might lead me to an all african tank after im done this book. :)

Hi Ryan. Don't get a Stingray.. ;) just kidding you. I had one and loved it. He would eat right out of my hand. Lost interest after about a year with him and sold him. Great pet. The best advice I can give you about getting a Stingray is to make sure the one you get is VERY stable before bringing it home. My first Ray had been in the LFS for only 1 week before I brought it home. It was eating but still did not make it. They replaced the Ray for me. This time I had them hold the Ray for 3 weeks before I picked it up and he was fine. After talking to the manager about the survival rate after transport of some species I don't think I would get one again. Many seem to die to get the one that lives.

Well I had just gotten into reef tanks and was amazed by the diversity of a reef tank. I found I watched my reef for hours and only spent time with the Ray when it was feed time. The Ray was neat, but it was the only thing in the tank. Rays are either swimming (which is great) or sitting there half burried in the sand. ( not to exciting)

My Interest in my cichlids is returning I have 3 female and 1 male 7 stripe frontosa and a few fry, some lelupi that i think will breed soon, i also have 4 male sailfin mollies in the tank . the sailfins are darter fish because the fronts don't do too much. I have 2 treteacephalus one of my favorite fish i think their male and female not sure but they seem to tolerate each other.
Anyway its a 125 gallons and I've kept cichlids for along time; I spend most of the time with the reef tank and the cichlid were not getting the attention they should. Now I'm getting back to the cichlids
