Hey Guys, I just got back from a long weekend in Montreal. Unfortunately I wasn't able to check any LFS's in Montreal as the Festival of Lights took up all of our time. (By the way if you ever get a chance to go to this festival...it was great.)
A while ago at a MACL meeting Chemlife mentioned to me there was a new LFS opening up in Kingston called Finaddicts (fanatics...oh never mind). Seeing as we were looking for a break from the long drive back, we stopped into see it. Even with general directions (Gardeners Road) we easily found it.
My wife and I were very impressed with the staff there. They showed us around and then left us on our own, with instructions to "yell" when we needed help. No pressure at all.
After looking around, I decided to make a couple of small purchases. One of the employees is a young lady (they're all young to me) and she was very helpful and seemed to be very knowledgeable about the hobby. She discussed various merits of my purchases and consulted with another employee on some of my questions.
I have to say they were very good to deal with. With the lack of pressure and good guidance they provided, I'd have to say a lot of LFS's could learn a lesson here.
If you are ever in the Kingston area, I would recommend dropping in and seeing these guys. Very clean and well maintained store and their selection was very eclectic.
Good stuff. Finaddicts are worth a look.

Dewey,

glad to hear it was a worthwhile stop! For those reading this who are after the contact info, here it is:

Finaddicts840 Gardiners Road, Kingston, ON K7M 3X9
Telephone : 613-634-3474

It is right off the 401, just south of it. If you are eastbound or westbound on the 401, take the exit for Gardiners Road, head south and it is just past the Cataraqui Town Centre (a mall), and located in a plaza at the corner of Gardiners and Taylor-Kidd Blvd. The plaza contains a local bar called "Whiskey Willie's" and is across the street from a car dealership.

It cannot be more than a 5 or 7 minute drive off the 401 and as Dewey said, a nice excuse to strech your legs!

Finally, I don't have any stake in the business and have nothing to gain from this post. I haven't even seen the place (it opened in early 2008 after I left Kingston), but have heard only good news from hobbyists I knew back there.
